Established in 1975, the Southern Eventing and Dressage Association is a non-profit, educational organization founded to foster an interest in, and understanding of, the equestrian sports of Dressage and Eventing.
SEDA belongs to USEF Zone 7, is a Region 9 Group Member Organization of the United States Dressage Federation, and an Area III & V Affiliate of the United States Eventing Association. With over 150 members, SEDA is one of the largest USDF affiliated clubs in Region 9 and growing. Our members primarily hail from Louisiana and Mississippi.
Club activities include educational events, schooling and recognized shows, clinics, seminars, tack sales, and an Annual Awards Program. SEDA's award winning newsletter, Off Course, is published bi-monthly as a service to its members.
We invite you to join us in supporting the sports of Dressage and Eventing in our area by becoming a member! SEDA has a lot to offer whether you're new to the sport or an experienced competitor. Additionally, bodies are needed to assist with care for the horses. Several shifts are available. If you are interested in helping out with the horses at The Billabong (12250 Hwy 1077, Folsom, LA 70437), contact Sunny Francois.
- CONVENTION CENTRAL
USDF CONVENTION 2012 IN NEW ORLEANS
December 5-8, 2012 at the Sheraton New Orleans on Canal Street
We will be posting news and updates about the convention in the Bleep, newsletter and on the web site as it becomes available. We will need a lot of volunteers to make this happen and to make us look good ... so mark your calendars now to ensure your availability! We will know more as the date approaches, but we'll be working on this all year.
What do we know NOW? Convention dates are December 5-8 at the Sheraton New Orleans on Canal Street. There will be a Welcome Party for about an hour on the 5th, at a location to be determined. The convention theme will be "Laissez le bon temps rouler."
What can we do NOW? Please save your Mardi Gras beads for collection for table decorations and bag stuffers for the convention. We will let you know when/where to drop them off.
Sponsors will be needed for: helping cover the cost of putting together a great welcome party and coffee/tea/snack breaks during the convention itself. Contact Nicole for more information on getting involved with that.
